Bbring local people and local growers closer together. We’re here to make it easy to buy fresh, fairly priced food straight from the farmers who produce it—milk, meat, eggs, honey, and more—without the middlemen or the fuss. In a world dominated by big chain supermarkets, we’re building a simpler, more human alternative that puts farmers, communities, and good food first. The result? Better food, fair pay, and a stronger local community for everyone.
Big supermarkets have made food convenient, but often at the cost of transparency, fairness, and connection. Small-scale farmers struggle to compete, while consumers lose touch with where their food comes from and how it’s produced.
We saw an opportunity to change that.
By directly connecting people with local farmers, we help:
Food security is no longer a distant concept. It is something people feel in quieter ways first. Rising prices. Empty shelves. Fewer independent farms each year. Longer supply chains that break easily and recover slowly.
The modern food system was built for efficiency, not resilience. It works when everything goes right. It struggles when anything changes.
Small farms disappear not because they cannot produce food, but because they cannot survive the systems wrapped around it. At the same time, households are paying more than ever for food that travels further and tells them less about where it came from.
This is not a future problem. It is a present one.
Buy From Farmers Direct is not a marketplace chasing scale. It is infrastructure for local resilience.
Every time someone uses the platform, three things happen quietly but powerfully. Money stays closer to home instead of leaking into long supply chains. Independent producers gain stability without giving up control or margin.
Communities rebuild direct relationships with the people who feed them. Food security does not come from stockpiling or centralisation. It comes from proximity, diversity, and trust. When food is grown nearby, sold directly, and supported by the people who rely on it, systems become harder to disrupt. This is not about rejecting convenience. It is about redefining it.
Why is it so hard for small farms and local growers to connect directly with the people who live right on their doorstep?
We spent months visiting small farms, allotments and market gardens across the UK. One things became clear:
People are really struggling, growers were working incredibly hard…but no one knew hw to meet with people who provide their food at affordable prices-others were taking the lion’s share.
Rising costs, long supply chains, slim margins, increasing taxes made it tough for the buyer and tough for small producers to thrive.
And at the same time? Families wanted fresh, local food-without supermarket prices.
What if we cut out the middle-man entirely? A place where farmers could sell directly to their local community. A place where buyers could shop seasonal, fresh and affordable-straight from source.
We built a simple platform with one goal:
Connect local farms with local people. No complicated contracts. No unnecessary mark-ups. Just real food from real growers.
