The adults themselves don’t damage plants. It’s their larvae that do the work. Large cabbage white caterpillars are yellow and black, hairy, and grow up to 40mm long. They feed in groups initially, then spread out as they mature. Small cabbage white caterpillars are green with a velvety texture and feed individually. Both leave irregular holes in leaves, and their droppings (frass) are often the first sign of infestation.
