ACR, formerly known as the American Carbon Registry, develops carbon credit methodologies and operates a registry for voluntary and regulated carbon markets. Projects certified through ACR must follow approved methods for calculating, monitoring and verifying emissions reductions or carbon removals. Credits issued through the programme are known as Emission Reduction Tonnes. ACR supports project types including forestry, carbon capture, methane reduction, agriculture and industrial emissions management.
