ART TREES is a certification system designed for large scale forest protection programmes led by national or regional governments. TREES stands for The REDD+ Environmental Excellence Standard. It provides rules for measuring, verifying and issuing credits from reductions in deforestation and forest degradation across entire jurisdictions. This wider approach aims to reduce the risk of deforestation simply moving from one project area to another and supports coordinated, long term forest protection.
